Though statistics many times can be unreliable the basics behind these studies can be insightful. Over at Mashable a statistical study on videos results is listed. This then got me to thinking about the music videos many Indie Artists upload to places like YouTube.com. In the following article I will assume the numbers from Mashable are correct.
In Phil Laws article "How to Make Band Videos More Appealing for Buyers" he talks about some of the content not being available elsewhere. Since 61% of a video's views will occur during the 1st 90 days it may be worthwhile to reevaluate your videos at this time. Expect a 1% increase in views per day thus any video with less then 500 views at the end of 90 days can be taken down. Now why take these videos down? This is so that you can use them on promo DVD/R/s that you sell or give away to your fans.
Granted if you were to look into doing something similar to this. It would be worthwhile to include 1 or 2 of your most popular videos that are still available (due to popularity) on sites like Hulu and Youtube. The only other thing I would be concerned about in the above thought process, would be any videos that don't make the cut but are being embeded or linked to from other sites. The culmination of these links is helpful in building ones brand online. Though with communication even this could be helpful in showing responsibility to your promotional efforts.
